Aniimo Companion Is Live on Overwolf
Aniimo Companion is out now on Overwolf. It's a full interactive map of Aniimo's main continent and a complete creature dex, one hotkey away without leaving the game. Press Ctrl+Shift+A, find the chest, close it, keep playing.
Why a companion for Aniimo
Aniimo is a collect-and-explore game, and collect-and-explore games send you to a second monitor. Where's the last Lumin puzzle in this region? Which habitat does this creature spawn in? What does it evolve into? Every one of those questions means alt-tabbing to a wiki, scrolling past ads, and losing your place. We wanted the answer on top of the game, sized to fit, gone when you don't need it.
The map
Every marker from the main continent is on it: chests, Aniipods, eggs, Lumin puzzles, photo challenges, Alpha and Omega aniimos, outposts and more. Layer toggles per category keep it readable, marker search finds a specific one, and zoom-to-region navigation gets you across the continent in a click.
The part we use most is tracking. Press Track on any marker and it lands on your tracking card. When you've grabbed it, mark it Done. Progress is saved locally and persists between sessions, so a completionist run picks up exactly where you left it.
The dex
Every aniimo is in there with stats, evolution trees, habitats, abilities and skills. Search has autocomplete, and you can filter by element (with Any/All matching for multi-type creatures) and by habitat region. Show on map jumps straight from a creature's page to where it lives, which is the whole point of having the map and the dex in one app.
Built for the overlay
- Ctrl+Shift+A toggles the overlay in game. The hotkey is rebindable in the app's settings.
- The same app runs as a desktop window when you're not in game.
- Offline-first. All data and images are bundled, so there's no account, no sign-in, and nothing to wait on.
This is our third Overwolf app after Supervive Stats and SteamTrackr, and the overlay work from SteamTrackr 2.2 carried straight over. Getting an overlay to feel like part of the game rather than a window floating over it is most of the job, and we've had a lot of practice.
